Whoville Exhibition Thomas Beale - E.W.S. (Cunard)

This collection of artwork is part of an exhibition from noted contemporary collector, Beth Rudin DeWoody, curated by Laura Dvorkin in collaboration with Circa 1881Whoville, coincides with EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, and is available through October 23rd.

New York-based sculptor, Thomas Beale works with found and reclaimed materials, such as wood and shells, to create shapely organic sculptures. E.W.S. (Cunard) was recently commissioned by DeWoody using her own vintage luggage as the foundation for the intertwined channels of carved wood.

Beale also founded HoneySpace, a New York alternative exhibition space, and earned his BA from Dartmouth College.  He was the youngest person ever to win an NEA/Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission Creative Artists Fellowship.
